our people

Pete and Deb have had the pivilege of living at Wanda Beach since 1985.
The ocean influences and inspires us in both work and play. Originally keen surfers, our leisure time revolved around our Shire beaches, diversification first saw us venture into dinghy sailing on our waterways, and now for over a decade we have enjoyed the pleasure and pain of offshore yacht racing.

Married for over 30 years, our only child Drew studied Naval Achitecture at uNSW, and is now employed by dynamic local Naval Architect firm One2three Naval Architects designing lightweight, fast and efficient commercial powered vessels, work boats, and racing sailing yachts on the world stage.

Under the Lushous Landscapes design trade name, Deb has independently conducted her own successful horticulturist and landscape design practice since 1995.
Deb is a member of the Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers.

Pete has almost 40 years experience as a building and architectural design professional.

Having completed the Structural Engineering Certificate at Sydney Technical College, Pete commenced freelance design in 1978. He registered his first business name and commenced full time practice in 1983.

Shortly after the inception of the Building Designers Association of New South Wales in 1992, Pete was awarded Full Member status. Membership categories are based on qualifications, full time self-employment record and review of a selection of built works. To maintain Full Member status the BDA member must document accrual of regulated professional development (PD) points each and every year.
Audited by Building Consultants Accreditation Pty. Ltd, a new system of state wide competency standards and design accreditation was introduced in 2003. Pete then upgraded to Chartered Member status, and became one of the first members to qualify for the highest Unrestricted Accreditation grade.
Over the years Pete has served on a variety of BDA:Sydney Chapter committees and several BDA:NSW Chapter committees as author and joint convenor of both state and national conferences. To recognise this service, Pete was awarded Fellow Member status in 2012.

Although operating a small design practice, Pete's scope of charter is broad, encompassing residential, multi-residential, industrial and commercial assignments.
In recent years Pete’s main focus has centred on his passion for the design of substantial, and often complex, single dwelling houses working exclusively from the Client’s brief, featuring environmentally considered design and incorporating innovative technology and materials.
Based at Wanda Beach, Cronulla NSW, the majority of Pete's designs are built in the Sutherland Shire.
